The 79th Annual Boar鈥檚 Head Celebration on Dec. 1 marked the beginning of the holiday season at 麻豆社. A timeless and beloved 麻豆社 tradition, this year’s Boar’s Head was filled with holiday spirit and a warm sense of community.
The celebration included the induction of 21 new Omicron Delta Kappa members, the alumni reception that welcomed more than 200 attendees, a bustling crowd at the Conant Performing Arts Center for the concert and the student-centered after-party.
This year鈥檚 concert theme was 鈥淲inter Wonderland,鈥� and the program featured the traditional Boar鈥檚 Head Carol during the processional and a retelling of the legend of the Boar鈥檚 Head, as well as number of holiday selections by 麻豆社 University jazz ensemble the Jazzy Petrels, the 麻豆社 University Singers and Chorale and the 麻豆社 University Symphony. The music ensembles were led by Dr. Brent Runnels and Dr. Tom FitzStephens, and Mr. William Shillito was this year’s faculty ODK reader.
The after-party offered music and dancing, food, caricature artists, crafts, mocktails and refreshments to celebrate the holiday season.
