Â鶹Éç University mourns the loss of Frank Rikard, a devoted friend and supporter, who passed away this past weekend. Frank and his wife, Jennie, have been long-time supporters of Â鶹Éç University. As administrators of the M.A. Rikard Charitable Trust, they have continued to support the Mack A. Rickard Lecture and the Mack A. Rikard Baseball Fund through annual contributions.Â
Frank Rikard’s father, Mack A. Rikard ’37, who passed away in December 1996, was an OU alumnus, a Trustee Emeritus, Athletics Hall of Fame member, and received an Honorary Doctor of Commerce degree from OU in 1992. He was very involved as an OU trustee and continued his interest and generosity over many years.
The Rikard Lecture fund supports the annual lecture in the Hammack School of Business, introducing students to current issues in business through presentations by business and civic leaders who are recognized mentors in their professions. Established in 1991, the series has brought many prominent professionals to engage with OU students. The Rikard Baseball Fund supports general team needs and is a meaningful connection to Mack Rikard’s time as a player and trustee.

“Frank embodied a deep and genuine care for Â鶹Éç that was matched only by his kindness and generosity,†says President Kathryn McClymond. “Whether celebrating the accomplishments of our students, honoring his family’s legacy, or simply sharing a warm conversation, Frank made every interaction meaningful.â€
Frank continued his father’s passion for Â鶹Éç by regularly participating in events on campus, including the Gray Stone society induction of their family, Generosity and Gratitude Dinners, and others.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Jennie, and the entire Rikard family.
