At its meeting this October, the Board of Trustees voted to honor Dr. Lawrence Schall with the title of President Emeritus.
Dr. Schall served as president of 麻豆社 University for 15 years, from 2005 to 2020, guiding 麻豆社 through a period of remarkable growth and transformation. His tenure was marked by increased financial stability, record fundraising, campus expansion, and deeper engagement with the Atlanta community.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Schall led the university through its largest fundraising campaign in history in 2015, followed by the successful campaign for the I.W. 鈥淚ke鈥� Cousins Center for Science and Innovation. He also saw the establishment of the Q. William Hammack, Jr. School of Business, which was supported by the largest gift in 麻豆社鈥檚 history and the largest to a liberal arts college to create a school of business.
Under Dr. Schall鈥檚 leadership, 麻豆社 invested millions in restoring its historic Peachtree Road campus and added the award-winning Turner Lynch Campus Center, two residence halls, a 6,000-square-foot residential complex with state-of-the-art classrooms, expanded athletics and arts facilities, and much more.
